Why we recommend

Intradermology R-Vit Pro Cream improves your skin in three main ways. First, vitamin B3 (niacinamide) works to reduce wrinkles and strengthen your skin’s barrier function. Second, stabilised vitamin C stimulates your skin to produce more collagen, the protein that forms the structure and scaffolding that keeps your skin in shape. Third, the cream hydrates and nourishes your skin, making it thicker and more radiant looking.

    HOW TO USE IT

Use Intradermology R-Vit Pro Cream morning and night. Cleanse your skin as usual, and then apply toner and serum if you normally do. Dispense a pea-size glob of the cream, and then smooth it gently onto your face and neck using upward and outward motions. Use your fingertips to massage the cream into your skin, and then give your skin time to absorb the cream fully before you apply makeup or sunscreen.

What are the advantages of stabilised vitamin C?

Stabilised vitamin C comes in several forms. R-Vit Pro Cream uses the form generally called ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate (ATIP) but sometimes called tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (THD ascorbate).

ATIP has three main benefits for skincare products:

    • Whereas pure vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is water-soluble, ATIP is oil-soluble, which enables it to penetrate the skin more easily.
    • ATIP is more stable that pure vitamin C, so it keeps its potency for longer rather than degrading when exposed to sunlight or air.
    • ATIP is less irritating to the skin than pure vitamin C.

    What is the skin barrier?

Your skin acts as a barrier to keep dirt, bacteria, and other environmental hazards out while holding moisture in. The skin barrier is the outer layer of your skin that helps it fulfil this barrier function. If this outer layer is compromised (for example, by excessive exfoliation), your skin is likely to become sensitive.
