Why we recommend

With its trio of age-defying ingredients – resveratrol, EGF peptides and plant stem cells – this serum is particularly effective in smoothing menopausal changes in your skin, including preventing the appearance of wrinkles and pigmentation. If you’ve undergone any tweakments, such as laser or RF therapy, the concentrate can help speed up the recovery process too.

Designed to diminish wrinkles, and brighten and tighten the skin, the hero ingredient of this smoothing serum is Metabiotic Resveratrol. It’s a powerful antioxidant that stimulates collagen synthesis to smooth and prevent lines, while reducing signs of UV damage. The formula also contains EGF peptides, derived from wild Australian tobacco leaves, to encourage the skin’s natural renewal process; Swiss apple stem cells to stimulate collagen synthesis; prebiotics to support the skin’s microbiome; and black willow bark extract to fight inflammation.

    HOW TO USE IT

When is the best age to start using ‘anti-ageing’ skincare?

There’s a lot of debate around when you should start using anti-ageing skincare, with those in the preventive camp saying ‘as soon as possible’! However, it really does depend on your individual skin appearance and goals. Skincare brands will likely give you some guidance of which of their product is best for you and at what age.

What skin changes can be triggered by perimenopause and menopause?

Perimenopause and menopause can cause a wide-range of skin changes. For example, your skin may become drier due to declining oestrogen levels causing a decrease in natural oils, while a decrease in the production of collagen and elastin (aka your skin’s structural proteins) reduces skin firmness, accelerating the creation of wrinkles and fine lines. Hormone changes can also make your skin more sensitive, something which can be exacerbated by other symptoms such as hot flushes that can heighten irritation and redness.
