Why we recommend

Facial acne can be a nightmare, but acne on your body can be even worse, constantly chafed by your clothes and preventing you getting comfortable. Eu-Body Prebiotic Anti-Acne Body Cream from dermatologist Dr Tina Meder’s Meder brand tackles body acne head-on with innovative ingredients such as Noni plant stem cell extract and bio-fermented kimchi cabbage extract alongside more widely used ingredients such as niacinamide and dexpanthenol (vitamin B5). A big plus is that this cream is hypoallergenic and free from irritants. Another big plus is that you can use the cream safely even when you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.

Meder Eu-Body Prebiotic Anti-Acne Cream

Anti-acne cream for the body

Eu-Body Prebiotic Anti-Acne Body Cream is a treatment cream for acne on body areas such as the chest, shoulders, and back, rather than for facial acne.

  • Eliminates body acne
  • Restores a balanced skin microbiome to protect naturally against acne
  • Reduces inflammation and decreases sensitivity and discomfort
  • Moisturises, brightens, and soothes your skin

Meder’s in-vitro (lab) tests have shown Eu-Body Prebiotic Anti-Acne Body Cream eliminates 100% of the acne bacterium Cutibacterium acnes (C. acnes), which plays a central role in acne. The cream also wipes out 97.8% of the staphylococcus bacterium Staphylococcus epidermidis (S. epidermidis), which can cause infections in people whose immune systems are compromised.

Anti-acne Serums

All Skin Types and Oily Skin

Meder Eu-Body Prebiotic Anti-Acne Cream reduces acne by targeting its causes. The cream’s kimchi extract helps restore your skin’s microbiome by supplying prebiotics and probiotics to suppress harmful bacteria and promote helpful bacteria. Noni plant stem cell extract reduces inflammation and reduces the activity of acne bacteria. Niacinamide helps regulate your skin’s sebum production and improves the skin’s texture and barrier function. Glycerin and vitamins moisturise your skin and further improve its texture and barrier function.

Shower to get your skin clean, and then apply the cream to the areas where you have acne. To get lasting results and normalise your skin’s microbiome, use the cream consistently for 5 to 10 weeks, even if your acne clears up sooner than this.

    What causes bacne?

Bacne and other types of body acne have the same causes as facial acne. First, your skin’s sebaceous glands produce excess oil (sebum), which can clog up your pores. Second, dead skin cells get stuck in those pores, trapping oil, bacteria, and other muck in them. Third, your pores get inflamed, and whiteheads and blackheads develop.

What else can I do to reduce bacne and other body acne?

Apart from showering and then using anti-acne cream, minimise friction or pressure on your skin. Try to avoid wearing any clothing that rubs against your acne, because that will strop it up. Similarly, wearing a backpack is likely to make bacne or shoulder acne worse, especially if the pack sits on your skin and makes you sweat.

    What are prebiotics?

Prebiotics are substances that provide food for beneficial bacteria – in this case bacteria on your skin. By sustaining these good bacteria, the prebiotics contribute to your skin having a healthy microbiome.
