Revision Skincare’s Brightening Facial Wash exfoliates your skin gently using glycolic acid (an alpha hydroxy acid, or AHA) and salicylic acid (a beta hydroxy acid, or BHA). The glycolic acid helps improve the skin’s texture and reduce the visibility of wrinkles and fine lines. The salicylic acid unclogs blocked pores and reduces inflammation. Brightening Facial Wash provides a blend of liquorice, lily extract, and vitamin C to make your skin look brighter and more radiant, plus extra antioxidants to help your skin hold off the effects of ageing.

    HOW TO USE IT

Use Brightening Facial Wash once a day at first. If you find your skin tolerates it well, you can increase the frequency to twice a day.

Wet your face with lukewarm water, and then place a pea-sized amount of the wash in your palm. Work up a lather with your hands, and then gently massage it on to your face using circular motions and avoiding the eye area. Rinse off the lather thoroughly, and then pat your skin dry.

Water (Aqua), Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Decyl Glucoside, Acrylates Copolymer, Glycereth-2 Cocoate, Sucrose Laurate, Glycolic Acid, Glycol Distearate, Arctostaphylos Uva Ursi Leaf Extract, Lilium Candidum (Lily) Flower Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Powder, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Salicylic Acid, Glycerin, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Tocopherol, Aminomethyl Propanol, Butylene Glycol, Steareth-4, Citric Acid, Benzoic Acid, Fragrance (Parfum).

Why should I use this facial wash only once a day at first?

Brightening Facial Wash includes glycolic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid that may make your skin more sensitive. Start off slowly, using the wash only once a day, to give your skin a chance to build up tolerance to the glycolic acid.

What are the benefits of exfoliating my skin?

Exfoliating your skin removes dead skin cells from the skin’s surface, revealing fresher skin underneath. It also helps to prevent your pores from getting clogged and developing spots. Exfoliation can also stimulate your skin to produces new skin cells more quickly, which may improve your skin tone. Given these advantages, exfoliation is a key step in your skincare regime, but it’s essential to exfoliate gently – for example, by using alpha and beta hydroxy acids – rather than exfoliate vigorously, which can damage the skin’s surface.

What other steps should I take to look after my skin?

The other key step is to protect your skin from the sun. Exfoliation with an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) usually makes your skin more sensitive to ultraviolet (UV) rays, so use broad-spectrum sun protection any time you’re exposed to UV. That’s not just when you’re actually in the sun, but also in overcast conditions or when you’re exposed to strong light through a window. Alternatively, cover up with sunproof clothing.
